Black Panther, Block Buster Hit with NAACP Teens, Tampa

The NAACP Youth Council held a fund raiser with the premier of the movie, Black Panther, held at the Xscape Movie Theater in Progress Village of Tampa FL.  The teens and their parents turned out to an extraodinary event that was entertaining to all ages.  The movie premier was kicked off in cities across the country, introducing the block buster to excited fans across the spectrum.  In Tampa, the event included African dancers, drummers and most movie goers wore their African garb.  At the end of the movie, gift bags were given out with goodies and information about HIV and how to prevent it.  The movie itself represented the best of the African diaspora around the world.  When I asked the youth about the movie, Pete Johnson said "It was a wonderful movie, full of action, everyone should come and see it", DeAndre Matthews described it as, "a lot of action, but a lot of tragedies, I was about to cry", and Henry Nole said, "It was amazing, it was good action, it was fun, like it was a joyful to see before anyone got to see it!"

The movie is a must see, make it a family night out!
